Ken has now been giving gardening advice on BBC Essex for over 20 years, and has had his own programme since 1992. He has broadcast from all the major gardening events across the country including Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Flower Show and Gardeners World Live, as well as attending local gardening events in Essex. His two hour Saturday programme includes discussion about gardening where he and his experts answer the listeners gardening problems. Chelsea Flower Show opened to the press on Monday 24th May and Ken was there to see what's on offer this year, also catching Piers Morgan for his opinion as he browsed.
Ken and Tom Cole (right of photo) a frequent guest on Ken's Gardening Plus Saturday programme, talked to Ben Wincott who designed "The John Joseph Mechi Garden," with its strawberries and champagne theme, that was built by Writtle Students and sponsored by RABI and Wilkin & Sons Ltd.
You can usually escape politics in the gardening world, but not always, as Ken found when he came across Michael Heseltine visiting RHS Hyde Hall.
Ken catches up with Alan Titchmarsh at RHS Hyde Hall in Rettendon where he was officially opening their new Visitor Centre on Thursday 11th March.
'Fake That' comprising of Tim Gillett, Weekend Editor; Phil Meachum, Presenter; Ken Crowther, Presenter; Steve Scruton, Presenter, performing at Maldon Primary School singing 'Shine' where they came first in the Shame Academy competition for Children in Need. As the winning act they went on to perform in front of thousands of people in Chelmsford Town Centre at the Christmas lights switch on.
